THE LEGEND OF "THE SILBÓN"
After murdering their father, the man it was punished with a neck mandador (typical of the plain), when trying to escape it was bitten by a dog tureko, to conclude the punishment their grandfather he/she watered on their wounds great quantity of spicy pepper. The memory and mention of that happened pound to people of being attacked by this well-known wandering spirit as the silbón.
The Silbón is presented to the drunkards in somber form. Other llaneros gives him tall and thin man's form. it uses hat and it attacks the men merrymakers and drunkards, to which it sucks the navel to take them the liquor.
The tradition explains that when arriving the silbón at a house in the night hours, it discharges the sack and bill one to one the bones; if there is not who can listen to it, a member of the family dies to the dawn.
Another version says that a son that I kill his father to eat him their was "offals". The boy toñeco was raised (spoiled), it didn't respect anybody. One day he/she told to their father that wanted to eat deer viscera. Their father left hunt to please it but he/she took in returning. In view of this the boy left to look for it and when seeing that he didn't bring anything, he had not been able to hunt the deer, I kill him, I take out him the viscera and I take them to his mother so that he cooked them. As they didn't soften, the mother suspected that they were those "offals" of her husband, asking to the boy who admitted the truth.
Immediately he/she cursed it it stops a lifetime. Their brother Juan pursued him with a "mandador", one sounded him it covered of pepper and it incited him the dog "tureco" that it pursues him until the end of the world and it bites him the checks
